On the 1st of April 2010, Feed in Tariffs , or FTTs as they are also known, were made available in the United Kingdom. It is not yet available in Northern Ireland, but is currently under discussion by the government. With FTTs, energy providers are required to pay households and communities on a regular basis when they make use of this form of renewable energy to generate the electricity they need in their homes.
